Investment profile

An Amsterdam apartment where both the home and an active owners’ association are becoming more future-ready step by step.

Sustainability goes beyond the front door

When you buy an apartment, you do not only buy four walls. You also become part of a building and its owners’ association. That is where much of a home’s long-term quality is determined.

At one of our Amsterdam apartments, we can see how much difference that makes. The home and building have moved step by step towards being almost gas-free. Cooking is electric, solar panels have been installed and substantial investment has been made in insulating glazing.

Direction and delivery

The owners’ association approaches sustainability actively and collectively, making use of available schemes and subsidies. Not everything has to happen at once, as long as there is a clear direction and decisions are ultimately carried through.

Comfort and resilience

Maintaining and improving a building over many years costs money, but it also makes a home more comfortable, more future-ready and less dependent on ageing systems and energy sources. At the same time, it remains a pleasant home in an Amsterdam neighbourhood that is very much in motion.
